2020 Basketball and cheer Signups

Basketball and cheer is right around the corner!  K/1 Instructional, 2^nd Grade Traveling Instructional, 3^rd-6^th Grade Competitive Recreational, and 7th-12^th grade teams!

A note on Covid-19

Expect restrictions. If any of the potential restrictions, both listed here and not listed are a deal breaker for you… don’t sign up. Our goal this year is to have a season, we will work with whatever restrictions are in place. BCRL has been very creative in past years for where teams play and we will use some relationships built over the years to find the least restrictive, but safe option available to us.

Things we know will happen:

• No parents allowed at practices.
• Different practice procedures for drop off and pick up (like temperature scans)

Things we expect to happen (set by various leagues).

• Limited fans allowed at games
  • CPYBL has restricted fans to two adults per player. Siblings are not allowed.  We know this is not doable for most families and we have informed the CPYBL if this is the restriction in place, we likely won't be placing teams in their league thisyear.
  • CBYBA has not set policy yet, we expect this to be doable and allowing for a fairly normal season.
  • SWOL has not set policy yet, but based on prior experience they tend to rely on gym gaps between games to reduce folks in the gym.
  • NBN has some policies in place for their spring/fall league, they will have to adjust for the busier winter league.  But we may end up placing some teams in the NBN league this year.
• Mask will be worn by players on bench and by parents.
• Expect temperature screenings.

We at BCRL have our own views on this issue as many of you do too, but the rules are the rules and we will enforce them to ensure having a season. Even things we don’t like.

Again, if you feel these are deal breakers, you probably shouldn’t sign up. We don’t say that to be dismissive, but to be up front and honest with you. If you have some “at risk” folks and are concerned about Covid-19 greatly, you probably should assume life during basketball season will look similar to now. Our fees are non-refundable and we don’t want to mislead anybody in this regard.

COST
2^nd – 6^th Grade: $100 1^st registration, $75 2^nd registration, $235 max. per family
7^th Grade +: $100 per player
Instructional (PreK-1^st): $65 per player (not counted in family max) 
Cheer (K-6^th): $60 per player (not counted in family max)

SIGN UPS NOT RECEIVED BY 10/3 AT 11PM ARE TAKEN ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.
